Achieving consensus on quality indicators (QI) for pediatric Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (pSLE)

چکیده
Results There was consensus (97%) among the 297 respondents that simply applying QI developed by the ACR and EULAR for adults with SLE (adult QI) was insufficient and that distinct QI for pSLE were needed. Respondents concurred that 5 of the 20 ACR and 6 of the 24 EULAR adult QI are also suitable for pSLE. An additional 14 ACR and 13 EULAR adult QI might be useful for pSLE after modifications. There was no consensus whether to consider “Pregnancy” (45%) and “Reproductive Health” (65%) as domains in the set of pSLE QI.

Practice patterns and approach to kidney biopsy in lupus: a collaboration of the Midwest pediatric nephrology consortium and the childhood arthritis and rheumatology research alliance
BACKGROUND There is no clear consensus regarding optimal indications or timing of initial or repeat kidney biopsy in the management of pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus (pSLE). METHODS A web-based survey was designed to assess current practice patterns among pediatric nephrologists and pediatric rheumatologists and distributed to members of Midwest Pediatric Nephrology Consortium (MWPNC)...

Pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus (pSLE) is a chronic mutisystemic autoimmune disease with complex clinical manifestations. Although the presentation, clinical manifestations, immunological findings and treatment issues of pSLE are similar to those of adult SLE patients, there are special issues which need to be considered when dealing with SLE in children. During the last decade survival ...

BACKGROUND/AIMS There is a critical need for more noninvasive biomarkers to identify nephritis in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Recent studies in a model mouse and an adult SLE patient cohort suggest that anti-basement membrane antibody levels correlate well with lupus activity and kidney injury. The purpose of this study was to assess the anti-basement membrane reactivity i...

متن کاملEvaluation of autoantibody profiles in a cohort of new-onset pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus patients using autoantigen microarray technology
Purpose Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is characterized by the production of autoantibodies directed against many highly-conserved nuclear antigens. 15% of SLE patients develop disease in childhood or adolescence, and pediatric (pSLE) patients often have more severe disease onset and organ system involvement. Antigen microarray technology allows the comprehensive analysis of autoantibodies ...
